Alexander offers Mosquito Reduction Service to reduce mosquito
populations in your yard, in the areas you select. Reducing mosquito populations will
help keep your yard comfortable all summer long and can also help protect you and your
family from diseases spread by mosquitoes, such as West Nile Virus. Treatment can
substantially reduce mosquito populations in your yard, even if you live in close
proximity to other neighbors who do not have mosquito treatments performed.
Our Integrated Pest Management Approach
We use an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach in our mosquito
reduction services. IPM means more than just applying pesticides. IPM
involves several steps targeted at your
specific problems. IPM also focuses on removing the three key elements pests need to
survive: food, water and shelter. Making your yard a less desirable destination for
mosquitoes will help to reduce mosquito populations. This provides you with a longer-term
solution in the least intrusive manner possible.
Our Services
Our services include inspecting the area, identifying the pest problem,
selecting appropriate control methods, applying pesticides judiciously, and then
evaluating the effectiveness. We may also suggest things you can do, such as removing
items that can hold water and breed mosquitoes.
Our treatments usually consist of treating both adult mosquitoes on plants, shrubs, and
other vegetation and treating larvae in standing water areas. Each treatment is
expected to keep mosquito populations down for approximately 28 days, depending on
weather conditions in the days and weeks after treatment.
Our services are usually performed on a monthly basis, during the warm weather months -
generally April through October. You may select service for any number of months,
even on an "as needed" basis, but we do require an initial minimum of two months of
service. Regular treatments at monthly intervals are recommended to continually keep
mosquito populations at an acceptable level.
Our Guaranty
We stand behind our services. If you do not notice a significant
reduction in mosquitoes that lasts at least two weeks, we will return and retreat at
not additional cost.
Reducing mosquito populations can reduce your risk of contracting diseases transmitted
by mosquitoes, but they do not eliminate this risk. Our treatments reduce mosquito
populations, but we do not eliminate mosquitoes, and we do not guaranty that you
will not be bitten by mosquitoes or contract a disease from mosquitoes. You should
still take precautions to protect yourself from mosquitoes and mosquito bites. For
example see the CDC West Nile Virus Fact sheet available at
